My Smartmoney card means a lot to me. This serves as my credit card for online transactions and for paying bills, an ATM card for cash withdrawals and also for grocery.
So far I have not encountered any problem using it. Every transaction was smoothly processed that is why I recommend this to everybody. One of the big helps this card was done to me was to verify my Paypal account, I could not describe how relieved I was when it was completed. I needed a verified Paypal account
then because I was able to get a part-time job online where my part-time employer is located outside of the country and the only way he could pay me was through Paypal.
So how did I get my Smartmoney card? It is very very easy. First I made sure I had a Smart SIM card with regular load of at least Php10, Postpaid sim can also be used, prepared a Php100 to pay for the card(it is a
one-time payment upon claiming the card), brought a one valid ID with me and I went to the nearest Smart Wireless Center.
At Smart center they had representatives dedicated assisting people with concerns about Smartmoney. So I talked to one of them and was asked right away if I had valid ID. I said yes.
She handed me an application form to fill out. After accomplishing the form I gave it back to her together with the Php100 payment for the card. It took only approximately 20 minutes and there she was with my Smartmoney card. However, this card was not a personalized one or did not have my name on it since it was a "rush" procedure. If I wanted a Smartmoney card with my whole name on it, I would need to wait for atleast one week to get it. I said it's ok since it's not going to be a problem using the card, my name or without it.
Before she dismissed me she asked if I would like to have this card linked to my smart sim card, I said yes again since my sim card is not activated yet for Smarmoney. Like I mentioned I had P10 regular load so she
could successfuly activate smartmoney on that sim and link the card to my simcard. She did everything for me. And the card was activated right away.
To add funds to the card, there are lots of ways. I usually add funds to may card through BDO. It is BDO (Banco De Oro) Smart partnered with to come up with this kind of service. I just go to BDO and deposit to my smartmoney card like a normal bank account. That's very convenient since BDO branches are almost everywhere plus there is no additional transaction fee. But if you deposit funds to your Smartmoney at Smart wireless center, there would be a P10 or 1% transaction fee whichever is higher of which does not make sense to me. One of the other things I like about this Smartmoney is getting a text notifcation evertime there is a transaction made with my Smartmoney account like deposits, purchases and withdrawals.
