HTC Desire 820 Powered By An Octa-core Processor With 64-bit Support

At IFA Event Berlin currently happening, HTC announced the newest member of its Desire line of smartphones the Desire 820. We all know that HTC's Desire line varies from entry-level to mid-range category and this one falls under mid-range but it's sort of ahead of so many smartphones out there because it is the first smartphone to feature a 64-bit processor using the Snapdragon 615 SoC. Plus it's a massive 5.5-inch and an Octa-core powered smartphone.

64-bit supported devices should provide users smooth experience while playing games and using apps that require a lot of power from the processor and at the same time helps the battery don't get drained fast. However this feature will not definitely be felt until Google officially released the next version of Android which is called Android L. HTC also confirmed that Desire 820 will eventually be upgraded to Android L.

On the front panel is a 5.5" HD display with 1280x720 resolution and an 8MP camera, that's a lot of pixels already for selfie pictures and other tasks for the front snapper. And of course the popular front-facing stereo speakers and two powerful, dedicated amplifiers of HTC BoomSound are also aboard. The casing is a polycarbonate shell which houses an Octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, that's four 1.5GHz and four 1GHz chips and 2GB RAM. 16GB internal storage is part of the package which is expandable via microSD card up to 128GB.

For rear camera, there is a 13MP one with BSI sensor and f/2.2 aperture and that is also enough to produce very good quality of images both in bright and low-light environment.

Pricing was not revealed so most likely that would be announced locally per market. HTC Desire 820 will be rolled out starting this month.
