Microsoft Unveils The Lumia 830 Flagship Smartphone

Microsoft promised to bring the PureView experience to a more affordable level and first of the device to sport such new strategy is the Lumia 830 which was recently unveiled at IFA even in Berlin this week. When you first look at this new Microsoft smartphone it will immediately remind you of the Lumia 930 if you are familiar with the Nokia premium devices in the recent past and that is because of its outside look.

The Lumia 830 features an aluminum frame while the back cover is a polycarbonate-made panel and a removable one. However on the inside there are a lot of differences between these two Lumia smartphones. First is it will come with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 OS running but Microsoft promised that a Lumia Denim update will be provided later this year. The Lumia Denim will feature fast camera start up and faster capture speed. Plus a 4K video recording format will be added. Speaking of video and camera, the rear snapper is pegged at 10MP with the PureView naming on it.

Lumia 830 sports a 5-inch HD Display with slightly curved (2.25D) glass and protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Inside the device are 1.2GH quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage which also supports microSD card up to 128GB.

Microsoft will start shipping out the Lumia 830 this month with a price tag of €330 or about USD$430 and will be available in four color variants green, orange, white, and black. It also comes with free 15GB worth of OneDrive cloud storage and Mircrosoft Office preloaded.
