Is there a Samsung Galaxy S6 Active coming?
If we follow Samsung's trend on its flagship devices of the last couple of years, a rugged version of a flagship device seems to be actually coming our way and it's just a matter of waiting an official announcement from the Korean company. But as early as today, there is already a good number of rumors and leaks surrounding the alleged device. Many of them said the smartphone will be called Galaxy S6 Active, again that makes a little sense if we look back at previous Galaxy S Active series.
A report on SamMobile, citing an insider source, claims that the smartphone will feature almost everything we see on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices (except the curved displays) with the addition of some missing features and specs an "Active" version should offer. A bigger battery and the water, dust and shock proof features which did not make their way to the latest Galaxy S6.
The report added that the S6 Active will have 5.1-inch QuadHD Super AMOLED display, then the rest would be just the same like the 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage (hopefully expandable this time), 16MP/5MP cameras and an Exynos processor. Also the dimensions on the Galaxy S6 Active will be a bit bigger as the smartphone will be equipped with a much bigger battery size, SamMobile source said it's going to be a 3,500mAh battery pack.
The rumored Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is said to be hitting first AT&T bearing a model number SM-G890A.
If this is real, are we also to see Galaxy S6 Mini and/or Galaxy S6 Edge Mini within the year? We'll definitely know in the near future.
