The new OPPO Ace 2 5G boasts 40W fast wireless charging, yes wireless

Called the AirVOOC, the newly launched OPPO Ace 2 sports a 40W wireless charging. In case you wonder, yes it is currently the fastest wireless charging technology on a smartphone. It's so fast that the phone's 4000mAh battery can be fully charged in just 56 minutes according to OPPO through a wireless charging pad that's sold separately.

And of course the OPPO Ace 2 also supports wired fast charging feature, a 65W SuperVOOC 2.0, which charges the phone in as fast as 30 minutes. It also features a 10W wireless reverse charging.

The OPPO Ace 2 is the company's first smartphone with wireless charging feature and yes as you can see its entrance into the wireless charging space is pretty fantastic. The phone is a successor to the OPPO Reno Ace last year, but the Reno branding is just being dropped this time around.

It's about power and performance too

The phone is not just about charging capabilities, it's about power and performance too. Upfront it offers a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with AMOLED technology, 90Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. On the inside is the latest Snapdragon 865 processor, and yes it does come with 5G support. In terms of RAM, it will be released with 8GB and 12GB options and then for the storage, 128GB and 256GB will be available. For mobile gamers, OPPO included the Hyper Boost 3.0 and 4D Fever Cooling System to keep the device optimized even while on heavy use mode.

There are four cameras on the back of the OPPO Ace2. The primary shooter has 48MP accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide shooter, a third 2MP camera for macro shots, and another 2MP for portrait photography. For selfie, there is a 16MP to the rescue located in the punch-hole cutout.

The fingerprint reader is still present on the OPPO Ace2, but it is now integrated right into the display, thanks to the AMOLED screen panel. Color selections, there will be three to choose from - Fantasy Purple, Moon Rock Grey, and Aurora Silver.

The OPPO Ace 2 will be initially launched in China starting April 20. Pricing is at CNY 3,999 (Php28,700) for the 8GB + 128GB model, CNY 4,399 (Php31,500) for the 8GB+256GB, and CNY 4,599 (Php33,000) for the 12GB+256GB variant.

No word yet if this phone will also be making its way to the Philippine market.
