In case you have not seen at any SM Supermalls yet, the company is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary. This year they are making the celebration extra special - by launching a nationwide book donation drive that is all about spreading the joy of reading.
The campaign runs from July 7, 2025 and everyone is invited to become part of this incredible movement by donating any of their pre-loved books through any SM malls across the Philippines. It can be any type of books. It could be your childhood favorite or a novel that made you see and approach life differently. There is something magical and life-changing in reading, you might as well share it to the world.
Why this campaign is worth participating?
This campaign has a tagline "Under the Same Sky: Share the Magic of Stories" where SM Book Nook is on a mission to gather 40,000 books in line with SM's 40th anniversary milestone.
Through this drive, it will support children and families in underserved communities, expand SM Book Book reading hubs in more malls and partner institutions, as well as enhance public libraries through the National Library of the Philippines.
What books that you can donate?
According to SM, anyone can donate the following genres in good condition:
- Fiction and non-fiction novels and series
- Children's and Young Adult Literature
- Academic and Reference Books
- Magazine and Comics
Furthermore, this campaign is also in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which focuses on Quality Education, Reduced Inequalities, and Partnerships for the Goals.
So star gathering your pre-loved books and drop them off at any SM malls. Just look for special donation boxes situated in key spots.
