Good news to those people who are using Nokia Asha smartphones as they can now join Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry users to "have a moment" with as the WeChat application has now gone its way to the said Nokia handsets.
Tencent, the creator of WeChat just announced that its popular messaging ang social app is now available on Asha touch smartphones.
"We are delighted to bring WeChat to Nokia Asha Touch smartphones to further extend the reach of this leading mobile social app. Nokia Asha Touch smartphone users can now enjoy a new way to connect with WeChat for free. Providing the best user experience is always our mission. While we aim to provide state of the art functions to our users, service quality is even a higher priority. We are excited about the launch and Nokia Asha Touch smartphone users will be pleased by the performance and experience brought by WeChat" said Dennis Hau, Head of Product Center, International Group.
The WhatsApp and BBM rival will still bring the "Hold-to-Talk" feature to the Asha handsets which allows users to send voice messages over mobile or data network. Group Chat will also be featured where users can chat to up to 40 of their friends via this function. You may download WeChat for Asha here.
WeChat has been widely promoted in the country especially in the Philippine television networks with some famous celebrities using the tagline "I'm having a moment" (If you are not familiar with its TV commercial, see it below). No wonder why it is getting known by most of the smartphone users here and some of my Facebook friends have posted their WeChat ID on their walls to look for other users who can be their WeChat buddy. The social messaging app also cares about our privacy that is why we can only share, communicate and interact with other users who we granted permission to connect with us.
