The first Percy Jackson & the Olympians (The Lightning Thief) movie was released three years ago. And if my memory serves me right, it didn't make that much of noise in the movie realm unlike its young-adult book-turned-movie counterparts such as Harry Potter, The Twilight Saga and The Hunger Games that's why I was not really expecting a sequel to it. But gods must be good as the 20th Century Fox decided to make the second installment film and brought the young demigods back to life. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters international movie trailer was just released.
In the "Sea of Monsters" we see Percy Jackson together with his demigods friends again going through a journey of magical adventures with monsters and mechanical beasts on their way as they retrieve the Golden Fleece which is the key to the survival of their home and is located somewhere in the Sea of Monster or Bermuda Triangle as the humans call it.
As we can see in this version of trailer, it is packed with more actions and with more monsters. I see it way better than its prequel. Thanks to the bosses behind this film who hired another director to helm this one, Thor Freudenthal.
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is based on the best selling novel of the same name by Rick Riordan and is second of the five books of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series.
The film stars Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson, Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase, Sean Bean as Zues, Jake Abel, Leven Rambin and many. Opens in the Philippines on August 15.
